Premium Woven Geotextile Fabric for Enhanced Soil Stabilization and Erosion Control

Woven Geotextile Fabric Overview

Woven geotextile fabric is made from polypropylene or polypropylene-polyester flat yarns. It consists of at least two sets of parallel yarns (or flat filaments): one set, called warp yarns, runs lengthwise (in the direction of the fabric movement), while the other set, called weft yarns, runs horizontally. Using various weaving equipment and techniques, the warp and weft yarns are interwoven to form a fabric. The thickness and density of the fabric can be adjusted based on its intended use. Generally, woven geotextile fabric is thin but exhibits high tensile strength in both longitudinal and transverse directions (with longitudinal strength being greater than transverse strength), offering excellent stability.

I. Product Performance of Woven Geotextile Fabric

Reinforcement Function: Used in highways, railways, airports, stone dams, seawalls, retaining walls, backfills, and slopes, it disperses soil stress, increases soil modulus, limits soil slippage, and enhances stability.

Protection Function: Protects embankments from erosion caused by wind, waves, tides, and rain. It is also used for shore, slope, and base protection to prevent soil and water loss.

Filtration Function: Acts as a filter layer for dams, rivers, coastal rocks, slopes, and retaining walls, preventing sand and soil particles from passing through while allowing water or air to flow freely.

III. Installation and Construction Guidelines for Woven Geotextile Fabric

Cutting: Only use a geotextile knife (hook knife) for cutting. If cutting on-site, take special protective measures to avoid damaging other materials.

Laying: During installation, take all necessary precautions to prevent damage to the underlying materials.

Debris Prevention: Ensure that rocks, excessive dust, or moisture do not enter the geotextile or the layer beneath it, as these can damage the fabric, block drainage channels, or complicate connections.

Inspection: After installation, visually inspect the entire surface of the geotextile to identify and mark any damaged areas for repair. Ensure no foreign objects, such as broken needles, are present on the surface.

Connections: Connections must follow these rules: On slopes, avoid horizontal connections (connections should follow the slope's contour without intersecting it), except for repair areas.

Sewing: If sewing is required, use thread made of the same or superior material as the geotextile. The thread must be resistant to chemicals and UV rays. It should also contrast in color with the geotextile for easy inspection.

Sewing Care: Pay special attention during sewing to ensure no soil or gravel from the covering layer enters the middle of the geotextile.
